It was a Monday, a Labor Day Holiday Monday at 1pm, and the fun of Summer was winding down. As a kid, your mind begins to drift in and out of reality, and it is amazing where thoughts go. This day, for me as a kid . . . it was in pursuit of the most fun I could have before it was off to school tomorrow. It was a fun day, a day I did not want to end, but knew that it would before I was ready. But there was more and I didn't appreciate it at the moment – because, you know, kids are that way. [but in reality . . . ] The calendar showed that it was September 5th, 2022 and in taking a moment to count the years, it was the 13th Wedding Anniversary for our daughter Wendy and JJ . . . and yes it was the 40th Wedding Anniversary for my wife and myself as well. But that's not all. It is also the Wedding Anniversary for my wife's Mom & Dad (Marlene & Daryl), as well as for her grand-parents (Irene & Floyd). |
So today, I step out of the imaginary and back into the memories and I know I am thankful and blessed. Not only for my wife, our kids and grandkids, but for our entire extended family and for all of the memories that we have created and will create over the years ahead. And yes, I hope & pray that you have great memories being built as well. For family is most precious.
