It was a Saturday morning and as a kid, there is always that other kid who will yell out . . . “It sucks to be you!” But in your youth, there is another gear to move into and then out and beyond. And it all comes down to what gets us going.
So, lets take a look at the kids we know. Some are slow to get going, others are self-starters, and yes, some are the type where you have to light a bit of a fire under them in order to get the desired movement (kind of like popcorn). For those of us that are raising more than one child, or have raised three, four or more, you probably wonder how can all of your kids be so different? Well, it all boils down to the mix of this and that within them. And in the big scheme of things, kids are a lot like eggs in the 'dozen you buy' - most are fine, but there may be one or two now and then, that just are not right. Now, we don't toss out our kids if they do something wrong from time to time. We work with them and if we do it right – we pursue the long duration game plan. Because, some pop before others, and some pop a bit later. Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord! Psalm 31:24 |
